Matthew Weiner's Mad Men Exhibit

LIFE, NEW YORK CITY, TELEVISIONEmily SpadaComment

A couple of weeks ago on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, my mom and I decided to drive into Astoria, Queens to the Museum of the Moving Image. We're both huge fans of Mad Men, and I personally am dreading the series finale this upcoming Sunday. I just can't believe it's over.

Saw some cool stuff today at @movingimagenyc. #Astoria #queens #madmen

The Museum of the Moving Image is currently showing a really interesting and spectacular exhibit all about Mad Men. It had two of the sets from the show: Don Draper's office and the kitchen from the Draper house in Ossining, NY. There were glass cases of notes from Matthew Weiner showing the little bursts of ideas he would have while working on the show. Napkins, pieces of paper from notepads, etc. It's so interesting to see how the show was coming together before it went on the air.

If you live in the area, I highly recommend the exhibit. We stopped at a really cute cafe called Astoria Bier and Cheese before heading over to the museum and had some stupid good grilled cheeses and craft beer.

Unfortunately, I don't have any photos from the exhibit except the one above. Photos were mostly prohibited throughout. Instead, I'm going to flood this post with a bunch of badass gifs.

^^^ Me when I walk into work every day.

Long live Don Draper.
